Introduction
For this genealogy report, B.O. (family friend) was interviewed on her and her family’s health history. The family’s health conditions, and genetic diseases are explored in this health history and consist of two parts, a narrative report and a pictorial genogram. The family line will include three generations: her grandparents (1st generation), her parents (2nd generation) and B.O. and her siblings (3rd generation). Lastly, a health risk is identified on B.O., and an educational summary is provided.

Personal information
B.O. is a 51-year-old Hispanic female who lives in El Paso and is divorced. She lives in a three-bedroom house with her adult daughter and two dogs. B.O. has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is a private college admission counselor.
Health history
B.O. was diagnosed with hypertension when she was 40 years old. She reports that she takes 10mg of Lisinopril once a day but still has some problems managing her blood pressure. She reports that her blood pressure is sometimes “high”. Other medical conditions include obesity and anxiety. Her surgical history consists of a cholecystectomy at age 40. B.O. denies smoking cigarettes but does report she drinks alcohol socially. B.O. denies other medical conditions such as diabetes, cancer, depression, bipolar, asthma, kidney disease or opioid addiction. She denies ever having a heart attack or a stroke.
Lifestyle factors
B.O. lives a sedentary lifestyle and admits to eating “a lot” of fast food and putting “a little too much” salt in her home-cooked meals. B.O. denies smoking but reports she does drink alcohol socially. B.O. reports that she does not exercise but voices that she wants to start walking around her neighborhood for exercise once the weather permits.
Family health history
In the family, her mother and father both had hypertension, with her father having a heart attack at the age of 45 years old. They both died from COVID-related complications. B.O.’s mother died at the age of 74 years and her father died at the age of 75 years old. B.O.’s mother's other co-morbidities included diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disease and a sedentary lifestyle. B.O. reports that her father was a smoker, sedentary and was obese. B.O.’s siblings, who are both alive, consist of a brother (46 y/o) and sister (53 y/o). They both have hypertension. Her brother also has hyperlipidemia, is obese and an alcoholic. B.O.’s sister has diabetes mellitus II, obese and COVID-related asthma.
B.O.’s grandfather on her mother’s side had hypertension and had a stroke. He died at the age of 80 years old from prostate cancer. B.O. reports that her grandmother on her mother’s side had diabetes and was obese. She died at 89 years old from natural causes. B.O.’s mother had four siblings. One of her uncles was an alcoholic and died from liver cancer at the age of 76 years old. B.O.’s other uncle died from prostate cancer at 69 years old. The other two siblings are female and still alive. One of B.O.’s aunts has hypertension, is obese and lives a sedentary lifestyle. The other aunt has diabetes mellitus II, arthritis, is obese and lives a sedentary lifestyle.
B.O.’s grandfather, on her father’s side, had hypertension, was obese, alcoholic and died from liver failure at 75 years old. B.O.’s grandmother, on her father’s side, was healthy for the most part, per B.O.’s recall, but did die from “bone cancer” at 88 years old. B.O. has two aunts on her father’s side who are both still alive. They both have hypertension and live a sedentary lifestyle.
Overall, it appears that the major health problems that are predominant in B.O.’s family line are hypertension and obesity. Lifestyle concerns among some family members include heavy alcohol consumption and a sedentary lifestyle. Pertinent negatives in B.O. families' health history include no asthma, mental health disorders, breast cancer, dementia/Alzheimer's, kidney disease, opiod addiction, or infectious diseases.
